Seoul, cloudy, 12°C
Today after lesson I had some spare time before going to cram school and I decided to go to Kyobo library and to Naksan Park which is very near my home.
While I was walking towards Naksan I took some pictures of the block in which I live.
It's a very lively and colorful neighborhood, famous for its theatres, cultural centres and cafès.

Seoul, sunny, 9°C
Lately I have developed an (unrequited and onesided) love for picture taking but only because recently I have had a lot of opportunities to capture new and lovely sceneries, trees, rivers, skies, mountains and everything is 'nature'.
Inside my Uni's campus there are several kinds of beautiful and colorful trees. Because of the impending exam I had had little time to enjoy watching them, but since I have decided that starting tomorrow afternoon I'll relax after the INTENSE STUDY and STRESSFUL EXAMS, you will enjoy more and morerandomness handsomeness.

Annyeong, yorobun!! (=Hi everybody!!)
Today together with my flatmates Karen, Hisako, Ryoko, Rae and Hyesan I went to the Han River in order to admire the cherry flower trees.
However, when we arrived to Yeouinaru we find with great dismay that due to the cold weather the trees hadn't bloomed yet ç__ç
By the way, since we were already in the right spirit for a jaunt and we had bought kimbap and beverages, we went by the riverside and settled down eagerly and in a really cheerful mood :)
Enjoy the pictures!

I've never seen such a beautiful and mirthful smile in my life before...
03 April 2011 @ 01:28 am
Since Sarah was here we decided to visit this village together and we have been delighted by its beauty.
A couple of words about the village:
the five well-preserved hanok buildings were moved where they are now in 1998 and the social status of the former residents (that varies from a carpenter to a high-ranking military officer to the father-in-law of a king) can easily been recognized from the architecture of the hanok and its furniture.
Our super lovely guide told us a lot of interesting particulars about the life in the houses and their particularities as ondol heating system (it's a heating system that warms the buildings from under the floor), the daily life of the former inhabitants, where they were studying, learning embroidery, reading, cooking and relaxing.
It has been a very interesting tour.
Take a look at the pictures!

Seoul, sunny/windy, 4°C
Today I went to a splendid site in the heart of my beloved Seoul.
It's a well-preserved royal palace, its name is Gyeongbokgung and during the Joseon era (1392-1897) it was the residence of the King and his family.
Gyeongbokgung literally means 'Palace of the Shining Happiness', even if, accordingly to what the guide told me, the life of the king and his spouse wasn't very happy inside the walls of the palace.
The king's every move was constantly monitored since his life was seen as an example for the population.
On the other side, the queen was seldom able to meet his husband and she was in charge of the education not only of the royal princes and princesses, but even of every maid.
And her work was strictly monitored and judged by the king's mother.
So, shining happiness my @$$.
But this is only my humble opinion!
Andmaybe I haven't understood everything perfectly since the guided tour was in korean.
I haven't seen everything because it was too cold, I only visited the main buildings, which are:
the throne hall, the council hall, the king and queen private residences and the super beautiful summer pavillion. I'm planning to come back there as soon as the trees will be in full bloom :)
The palace is astonishingly HANDSOME. My pictures really can't compare with the real thing, but please take a look nonetheless :)

YES!
We were able to buy the tickets thanks to a Korean friend of Amber... We were so happy :)
Unfortunately it was almost impossible to take pictures during the concert, the security was too tight ç_ç
But the web is filled with images and fancams, so my contribution is only because of the good memories I made on that day :)
1) I was able to see Jiyong from 2 meters... he's really handsome in person, and full of energy, charme and charisma;
2) I sung all the song I knew at the top of my lungs and even if the day after my voice was broken, I was so happy I didn't care;
3) I love the people with which I shared this experience :)
